For our sporting enthusiasts, who enjoy both hunting and fishing, we offer a "Fly and Field" adventure, one of our most popular sporting activities at the ranch. The shooting and fishing opportunities are better than imaginable, and the five star lodging and cuisine combine to make the most memorable outdoor experience a person could ask for.

Begin your stay floating the majestic canyon lands of Eastern Oregon, testing your angling skills in pursuit of a wild pacific Steelhead. Finish with a proliferation of birds and shooting opportunities for all levels of sporting enthusiasts.

At Highland Hills Ranch, we pay attention to every detail. We provide a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere, where guests are treated just like family. At the end of the day, when you settle into the lodge, you'll feel like you've come home.

Steelhead Fishing

Early Morning	Coffee and hot breakfast in the lodge.
5 a.m.	Leave the ranch.
7 a.m.	Fish.
Noon	Lunch.
1 p.m.	Fish.
5:30 p.m.	Hors d'oeuvres and beverage set up. Relax on the covered porches and enjoy the view, read a good book, or fish out of our ponds.
7:30 p.m.	Dinner.
Evening	Shoot pool, play cards, TV and great conversation. Enjoy cognac and cigars around our outdoor fire pit.

Upland Game Bird

Early Morning	Continental breakfast for early risers.
8 a.m.	Coffee and hot breakfast in the lodge.
9 a.m.	Hunt
Noon	Lunch along creek or in the lodge
1 p.m.	Nap a bit, then hunt, or hunt right after lunch
5:30 p.m.	Hors d'oeuvres and beverage set up. Relax on the covered porches and enjoy the view, read a good book, or shoot sporting clays.
7:30 p.m.	Dinner
Evening	Shoot pool, play cards, TV and great conversation. Enjoy cognac and cigars around our outdoor fire pit.
Seminar schedule will be flexible to meet the needs of the speakers and participants.

• One day float trip on the John Day River, perhaps one of the greatest smallmouth bass rivers in the world. It is not uncommon to catch arm loads of bass per day (using top water poppers), with some exceeding six pounds
  
• Using a fly rod, try landing hard fighting 18-inch trophy rainbow "redside" trout or experience the thrill of catching a 6 to 12 pound wild Pacific steelhead on the world famous Deschutes River
