Imagine

  • 300+ Pheasant per drive
  • Three traditional drives per day
  • 900+ pheasant per day, over 1,800 total in two days
  • Two traditional walk-up hunts for Pheasant, Chukar, Valley Quail and Huns on Day Four (think of the Pheasants that escaped the previous drives)

The ranch provides a picturesque setting and rolling terrain similar to Scotland and was hand-picked by Chris Batha, a world re-known shooting instructor, as “the perfect place” in North America” to host these events.

The traditional style hunting will be complimented by world-class lodging, chef-prepared gourmet meals, fine wines and spirits. Each evening guests will gather in the great room for a cocktail reception and appetizers, followed by a specially prepared dinner.

A Typical Schedule

Day One – Arrival day –
Check in is after 3:30 pm.  Cocktails and hors d’oeuvres will be served at 5:45 pm and dinner is served at 6:30 pm.  This is a wonderful opportunity to meet your fellow Driven Pheasant Shooters.

Day Two & Three – The British Driven Pheasant Shoot
A drawing of pegs will assign the shooting stations. Dennis Macnab, the owner,  will act as Shoot Captain.

There will be three drives of 300+ pheasant per drive, for a total possible bag of 900+ Pheasants per day. After the first drive, there will be the traditional break for a “Bull Shot”; during which the shot birds are collected. Following the second drive, there will be a break for lunch at the lodge followed by the third and final drive that afternoon.

Day Four – Traditional Upland Bird Shoot over Pointing Dogs
Given the challenging shooting during the Driven Pheasant hunt, it is possible that a team of guns will average one in three Pheasants shot. This means some 400 pheasant may be scattered throughout the cover, offering fantastic shooting over some of the best pointing dogs in the North America. Chukar, Valley Quail and Huns will be found in abundance as well.
